The Bavarians snapped up former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola to take over from Heynckes when his time at the Allianz Arena comes to an end.

But with Schalke reported to be interested in the 67-year-old's services, he may consider one last job in management.

Ahead of his side's UEFA Champions League last-16 first-leg clash with Arsenal on Tuesday he said: "I do realise there is some rumour and some information about that.

"I can't do anything about the rumours. I am a big-name manager and my name will come up.

"I will see about it at the end of the season.

"What managers have to do is work hard with their teams.

"Until the end of the season I will do what I have been and focus on my team."

Bayern are currently 15 points clear at the top of the Bundesliga and have won their past 11 matches in all competitions, keeping 10 cleans sheets.

They are also one of the favourites to return to the Champions League final after losing on penalties to Chelsea last season.
