The Bavarians progressed to the last-16 of the competition as Group F winners after they defeated BATE Borisov 4-1 on Wednesday night.

As he has done for much of Bayern's European campaign, Heynckes opted to shuffle his starting XI around once again, and the 67-year-old was pleased with the ultimate result.

"Of course I am very satisfied," he said. "It was our primary goal to win and to top the group.

"This newly-formed team played an engaged and alert game. We hardly let anything through in defence.

"It was a dominant performance overall and congratulations go to my team."

Meanwhile, Heynckes insists Bayern's opposition in the next round of the European showpiece will be formidable foes, regardless of their previous group finish.

"There's no easy game in the Champions League," he told the club's website. "The teams who finish second in the group are also very strong."
