Spurs' impressive 2-1 home victory last week courtesy of a Gareth Bale brace ensured the London club go into the return leg knowing an away goal will see their midweek opponents needing to win by two.

While Andre Villas Boas's men will take confidence from their recent domestic form, which includes three wins in three this February, the players will be wary of complacency ahead of the Stade De Gerland clash.

And Spurs will be hoping the red-hot Bale is in scoring mood once again, after netting six goals in his last four games for the club.

Lyon, meanwhile, head into the game relatively hopeful after their away goal at White Hart Lane left the tie delicately poised.

The Ligue 1 outfit will be hoping to inflict a first Europa League loss for their English counterparts this term, knowing that nothing short of victory will see Les Gones progress to the next round.

The French side will also be looking to overturn some indifferent form recently, having only recorded one victory, a 4-0 drubbing of Bordeaux this past weekend, in their last four games.

On the team front, first-choice Spurs striker remains Jermain Defoe sidelined with an ankle injury, with Emmanuel Adebayor is likely to continue his extended run up front.

Long-term absentee Tom Huddlestone will not take part after being ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing ankle surgery, while centre-back Younes Kaboul, too, remains a doubt after a four-month spell on the sidelines with a knee injury.

Elsewhere, Remi Garde has no new injury concerns following his side's victory over Les Girondins, with the exception of France international Yoann Gourcuff, who is a doubt with a hamstring injury.

The winner of the tie will likely face Serie A side Inter Milan in the next round, who take a 2-0 lead into their second leg away at Romanian side CFR Cluj.
