The former Inter and Chelsea boss has been the subject of much controversy this season, having failed to reach the heights set by last term's title-winning campaign.

Dressing room unrest and a massive 15 points gap between Madrid and leaders Barcelona have intensified speculation that Mourinho will be leaving the Bernabeu at the end of the season, with the ambitious French side being one of the rumoured destinations.

Mourinho, however, was quick to play down the rumours.

"No, I don't think I will coach PSG," he told RMC Sport. "The success of PSG with Ancelotti and Leonardo means they have no need for another coach.

"I hope everything goes well for Carlo and PSG. Europe needs to have a city like Paris competing at the top level of football, and I think this project is going to work."

In the same interview, the Portuguese also conceded defeat in this season's title race, preferring to turn his attention to more achievable competitions for the remainder of the season.

"The La Liga title is impossible now, there is too big a gap. We have to focus on other goals like the Copa del Rey and the Champions League," he said.

"It does no good to obsess over these things, obsession only makes things more complicated. Nothing will be easy.

"We need to stay calm and make the most of every opportunity."
