The French Football League's (LFP) Video Panel have reviewed footage of the clash involving the pair during Sunday night's Ligue 1 match at Parc des Princes.
Ibrahimovic appeared to trod on Lovren towards the end of the first half, inflicting a head wound on the Croatian centre-back.
The Swedish star, who is no stranger to controversy, will appear before the LFP's Disciplinary Commission to give his version of the events, although no date has yet been set for the hearing.
The incident has led to a row between the two French rivals, with Les Gones president Jean-Michel Aulas claiming Ibrahimovic intentionally stamped on Lovren, while PSG sporting director Leonardo told the supremo he should "Leave Zlatan alone!".
