All three players were pulled off in Monday's 1-0 win over Wigan with injury concerns. Tiote and Ba both sustained slight hamstring injuries while Santon's groin problem appeared to be more serious than initially feared.

And Pardew is calling on his youngsters to plug the gap, selecting midfielfers Conor Newton (21) and Yven Moyo (20) as well as the slightly more seasoned Gael Bigirimana, Mehdi Abeid and Adam Campbell.

The Magpies will be relieved to have Shola Ameobi back from his groin injury as they look to pip the French outfit to top spot in Group D, with both sides having already qualified.

Bordeaux lost 3-0 to the Tynesiders in the sides' previous matchday fixture but the result flattered the Toon Army.

Francis Gillot's side are unbeaten in Ligue 1 this season and won't give up top spot without a fight.

Gillot is without midfielder Gregory Sertic (thigh), Nicolas Maurice-Belay (thigh) while Landry N'Guemo (neck) and Fahid Ben Khalfallah (illness) are highly doubtful despite being included in the squad.
