The Portuguese hot-shot netted two goals in the first half of the Copa Del Rey semi-final second-leg to set up a great away victory against their historic rivals, before Raphael Varane's 68th minute goal sealed the victory, despite Jordi Alba's late consolation for the Catalans.

Having also beaten the Blaugrana at the Nou Camp in the Primera Division last season, a rare occurrence before the arrival of Jose Mourinho in the capital, the former Manchester United forward enthused over Los Blancos' improving form in Catalunia.

"It was a very good game, we played very well," Ronaldo told AS.

"From the first minute to the last we were very focused, with a great attitude. We played better than Barca, scoring three goals in the Nou Camp is extremely difficult.

"Lately whenever we play here we do very well. We play better here than at home.

"We must continue with this confidence. Most of the players like to play here and things are going well for us."

The 28-year old also took extra encouragement from Tuesday's cup victory, knowing things look less healthy on their league front, sitting a substantial 16 points behind their defeated cup foes in the race for the La Liga title.

"Beating Barca is always a source of great motivation," he continued.

"La Liga is less important because we are a lot of points behind, we need to look more at the cup and the Champions League, but certainly we will go there to do our best."

Tuesday's match represented the sixth game in which the former world player of the year has scored at the Nou Camp, and admitted the feat to be a 'nice' source of satisfaction heading into Saturday's league clash with Barca at the Bernabeu.

"It's nice (the record). I'll be in the history books of Spanish football," he added.
