The shot-stopper recently revealed his intention to depart the club upon the expiration of his current contract in 2014, but Rosell retains hope that Valdes, who has been at the club since the age of 10, will in fact decide to sign a new contract with the Blaugrana.
"He said he wanted to quit Barca, but I still hope he will change his mind. We'll always keep the door open for him in case he changes his mind," Rosell told reporters.
"The Camp Nou showed how much they love Valdes during the 5-1 win over Osasuna.
"There's still time and we haven't started looking for a replacement yet. The Camp Nou often gives its judgement for the better or the worse and the people always show what they think and what they want."
Valdes has made well over 400 official appearances for Barca since his debut in 2002.
