The Spain international has been frequently linked to a host of European clubs since announcing in August his decision to leave the Basque side following the expiry of his current deal.

Speculation intensified over recent weeks after the player had fallen out of favour with Bilbao coach Marcelo Bielsa, alerting the Bianconeri to a potential move for the front man, whom they have now added to an already impressive strike force.

A statement on the Old Lady's official website read: "Juventus can confirm that Spanish international striker Fernando Llorente will join the club on July 1, 2013.

"The 27-year-old has agreed terms on a four-year deal and will move to Turin when his Athletic Bilbao contract expires at the end of the current season."

The announcement ends weeks of speculation surrounding the Spaniard, as he finishes his final season with Bilbao before making the move to Italy.

Llorente has enjoyed great success with Athletic since graduating from their academy in 2004, making 334 appearances and scoring 104 goals.

He enjoyed a season-best 29 goals for the club in the 2011/12 campaign, reaching the finals of the Copa del Rey and Europa League that season.
