The Spain international's current deal is set to expire at the end of the 2013/2014 campaign, and the Blaugrana have moved to tie up their prized midfielder in a new long-term contract.
Xavi will commit his future to the Catalan side on Monday, with the news coming shortly after Carles Puyol and Lionel Messi both agreed similar extensions in recent weeks.
Goalkeeper Victor Valdes, however, has broken the mould by revealing he will move on from Barca at the end of the season, after turning down the club's offer to sign an extension.
