Malaga v Real Madrid

Benzema: Back in the mix

Real Madrid cannot afford anything less than three points when they travel away to Malaga for a Spanish Primera Liga match on Saturday.

Los Blancos are currently in third position on the league table, a hefty 13 points adrift of Barcelona, who are in action away to Valladolid this weekend.

Jose Mourinho's side go into this match having failed to win their last two games - a 2-2 draw with Espanyol in the league and a 2-1 defeat to Celta Vigo in the Copa del Rey cup.

Karim Benzema returns to the Madrid squad for Saturday's game, but defender Fabio Coentrao will be out with a muscle problem.

Centre back Pepe is a slight doubt after failing to train with the rest of the squad on Friday morning, however, he is expected to start the game.

But Gonzalo Higuain is expected to remain sidelined.

Malaga, meanwhile, have had a good season, finding themselves in fourth place, five points adrift of their opponents at the Estadio La Rosaleda this coming Saturday.

Manuel Pellegrini's side, who face FC Porto in the Champions League quarter-finals, head into their clash having won their last two league games.

Malaga also possess the best defensive record in the top flight, having conceded just 10 goals in 16 matches.
