The match is a dead-rubber for Mourinho's men who will finish second in Group D no matter what, due to group leaders Borussia Dortmund's superior head-to-head record.
As a result, the Special One is likely to freshen things up. Raphael Varane and Luka Modric are expected to feature, with Alvaro Arbeloa suspended and Xabi Alonso in need of a rest.
Sergio Ramos could move out to right-back while Modric will drop deeper into midfield.
Ajax still have a lot to play for. They are one point ahead of Manchester City, occupying third spot, and will be well aware that City will be going all out to snatch third-place and a resulting Europa League spot.
Ryan Babel is still out, having dislocated his shoulder. So Danny Hoesen should take his place, a goalscorer in the Amsterdam outfit's 3-1 win over PSV on the weekend.
