Levante's highly regarded defensive unit did a fine job of stopping Barcelona in the first half despite the Catalan side dominating possession in trademark fashion.

Two minutes after the restart however, Lionel Messi opened the scoring. Iniesta slipped the ball through for the Argentinian who delicately lifted the ball over the advancing goalkeeper.

On fifty-two minutes Barcelona started to pull clear. Iniesta once again the provider as he squeezed a low cross into Messi in the area and he swept home with an accomplished finish, his twenty-sixth goal of the season.

Iniesta got the goal that his superb performance deserved just shy of the hour mark as he thumped the ball into the top corner from the edge of the area.

Fabregas netted the fourth on sixty-three minutes when he rounded the goalkeeper to slide into the empty net after being well found in the box by Andres Iniesta.

Levante's woes were compounded two minutes from time when Barkero saw his penalty saved by Victor Valdes after Pique handled in the area.

The result sees Tito Villanova's Barcelona make it twelve wins from thirteen in La Liga while Levante remain in sixth as their good recent form comes to an end.
