Having spent the second half of last season out of action with a fractured leg, Villa's 2012/13 performances have been impressive despite his return from injury.
The 30-year-old has already scored five goals in eight La Liga appearances this term, his latest effort coming in Barca's 3-1 win over Celta Vigo on Saturday.
Villa is yet to complete an entire match for club or country since his comeback, but he believes he'll soon be tormenting opposition defences from start to finish.
"I've spent a lot of time training with the team, I started on the first day of the pre-season, and little by little I've got into the rhythm of the competition," the Spain international told Barca TV.
"I've started three games in a row and that makes me happy. I don't think I'm too far off from being able to play the full 90 minutes.
"As a forward, goals are important on an individual level, but they also help the team."
