Balotelli has long been linked with a return to his native Italy, and speculation intensified last month after a very public training ground dispute between the capricious youngster and City boss Roberto Mancini.

Galliani has always been a fan of the 22-year-old and said he would move for the player were City to lower their asking price.

"At the end of Friday Manchester City was still saying 37 million euros. We'll see on Monday. At that price, Balotelli will stay at Manchester City," Galliani told Gazzetto dello Sport.

"If Balotelli's price comes down then I'll get over to Manchester immediately."

Balotelli's agent, Mina Raiola, was recently spotted at Milan's headquarters to negotiate an alleged deal, according to reports.

Balotelli had previously spent four years at the San Siro playing for Milan's bitter rivals Inter.
