The Uruguay international, who is a target for mega-rich Manchester City, has remained coy on his future at Stadio San Paolo, while he continues to flourish in Serie A - his hat-trick in a 4-1 win over Roma on the weekend took his tally to 25 goals this term.
Despite the reported interest, Cavani is in no rush to depart his current employers.
"I have an objective and the club know what I want. I have a clear idea about my future, but now is not the time to openly discuss it," he told Mediaset.
"I am content at this club. I feel very good here and I want to go through the good and the bad moments. All I want to say is that the club know how I feel and what I want."
A £44.7million offer for Cavani has already been rejected by De Laurentiis, something the Partenopei supremo does not regret.
He said: "Turning down a € 55m [£44.7m] offer last summer was the right choice. If someone opts to pay his [£51m] buy-out clause, it's up to Edi to decide whether he wants to leave.
"He will probably stay if the offer comes from Russia, but he might consider leaving if Real Madrid or Barcelona make a move."
Cavani's current contract in Naples expires in June 2017.
