Juventus captain Gianluigi Buffon believes that his side has done enough to be considered a real European force as they prepare to face Shakhtar Dotnetsk in Ukraine.

The Bianconeri are currently second in group E, just one point behind group leaders Shakhtar Donetsk, needing a win against the Ukrainians on Wednesday to win the group.

A draw will be enough to see the Italians through to the next round, but if they lose and Chelsea win against Nordsjaelland, the Blues will take second spot in the group and progress to the round of 16.

This is something the Italian international goalkeeper is sure won't happen.

Buffon believes his side have proven themselves to be a force in Europe this season and should be feared by any opposition.

"I think our run so far has shown that we should be feared by everyone we come up against," Buffon said at his pre-match press conference.

"Of course, the result [against Shakhtar] and qualification are both fundamental, but the impression we're giving this year is that we're back to being competitive on a European level.

"If we play as we're able to then I believe we have every chance of ending the group unbeaten. We're ready. It wouldn't be such a bad thing if we manage to win the group and avoid a handful of potential winners."
