With Balotelli drifting in and out of the first-team reckoning under Citizens boss Roberto Mancini, and Berlusconi previously admitting he would like to the sign the former Inter man, rumours have since emerged the Rossoneri could be lining up a January offer.

A possible swap deal involving Brazil international Pato was also mooted, with the 23-year-old striker currently struggling to hold down a regular starting berth due to persistent injury problems.

Berlusconi refused to confirm if he is looking to sign the Italy international in the near future, but did rule out the chance of a swap taking place.

"An exchange involving Pato and Balotelli? I don't like exchanges," he told Milan Channel.

"Pato is definitely not on the market. He is one of our best players and has the opportunity to become an icon here over many years.

"Unfortunately, his frequent injuries have been a problem, but we just need to handle him right. AC Milan is the perfect setting for him."
