The injury-prone Frenchman picked up a calf strain in the 2-1 win over Aston Villa at the weekend, and incredibly it was his 37th injury in eight seasons with the Gunners since joining from Auxerre in 2006.
The talented midfielder has been limited to just 10 appearances in the league this campaign and is a doubt for the crucial game with Spurs on Sunday.
"Abou is an uncertainty. He has a calf problem, a minor one. It is question of days," Wenger told Arsenal's official website.
"He will have tests and then we will see if we can use him on Sunday or not. It is a 50:50. Actually, maybe a bit more for him playing."
The long-serving Gunners boss added that full-backs Bacary Sagna and Kieran Gibbs are still recovering from their respective injury problems and are also unlikely to feature.
"Sagna is not ready for Sunday. It is too short for him. Kieran is not back. That was as we expected," he said.
