Third placed Spurs hold a four point advantage over their neighbours and appear to be in pole position to qualify for the Champions League next season.

Their form of late has been mightily impressive having gone unbeaten in 11 Premier League matches, picking up 25 points from a possible 33 in the process.

And in Gareth Bale, the team from White Hart Lane possess arguably the most in-form player in world football at present, with the Welshman either scoring or assisting 10 of the club's last 11 goals. His personal tally this season stands at 15 goals in 24 league games.

Cazorla is acutely aware of the ramifications facing Arsene Wenger's men should they lose on Sunday, as Spurs would move seven points clear, and Chelsea would also have the chance to increase their advantage over the Gunners to five points with a win against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

"It's very important, not just because it is a great rivalry or that it's Tottenham versus Arsenal, but the fact that they're a side with great players who are fighting with us for a top four spot", he told the club's official website.

"To beat them and get into the top four and the Champions League, which is our aim for the season, is essential. We know how important it is and I hope we can rise to the challenge.

"Like everyone else, I'm really looking forward to the match against Tottenham and I hope we can achieve our goal of fighting for a Champions League spot. It's going to be a really difficult game but a great match to watch."
