City kept their Premier League title hopes alive with a vital 2-0 victory over the Blues at the Etihad Stadium.

After a goalless first period, the visitors were handed the perfect chance to claim the lead when Joe Hart brought down Demba Ba in the penalty area.

However, Frank Lampard's penalty was saved by Hart, and the hosts went on to claim all three points thanks to goals from Yaya Toure and Carlos Tevez.

Benitez, who has had to endure incessant abuse of disapproving supporters since taking charge at Stamford Bridge, was once more the target of their displeasure in Eastlands.

However, the Spaniard continues to tough it and even joked when asked if he was tiring of the vitriol: "I was not running so I am fine. I am disappointed because we could not win. I am just thinking about the next challenge."

Meanwhile, Benitez has refrained from labelling Hart's challenge on Ba a dismissal offence, saying: "I haven't seen the replay, but it should have been at least a yellow card. You can argue he is going in this direction but it is still a clear chance.

"I think it was a turning point. It was a crucial moment in the game."
