After a disappointing first half which saw no real notable chances, the second half sprung into life on the 68th minute when Huth headed the home side in front from a corner.

The corner was one of eleven which the Potters where awarded and the former Chelsea defender rose highest to nod the ball past Adam Federici in the Reading goal.

With the game coming to a close, second half substitute Jerome stuck a great strike into the corner giving Stoke a two goal advantage with just eight minutes left on the clock.

However, Reading have scored 41% of their Premier League goals this season in the last fifteen minutes of games, and on the 86th minute mark they they lived up to the statistics by pulling a goal back through centre back Adrian Mariappa.

Then, right at the death, Adam Le Fondre claimed to have been brought down by Alex Pearce in the penalty area, but referee Michael Oliver didn't agree.

Stoke held on for the victory and took a vital three points in the Premier League.
