The Belgium international has become one of the hottest properties in the Premier League following some inspired performances for the Toffees, and was tipped with a move to Stamford Bridge in the January transfer period.

That deal failed to materialise before the close of the window, although the 25-year-old has now told the Blues to put their money where their mouth is and come up with a legitimate offer for his services.

"If Chelsea want to sign me, then they need to come forward with a bid for me," he is quoted by the Sun. "I have heard about Chelsea's interest but I've honestly not spoken to them.

"Every season I've been here, top clubs have been asking about me but, for now, I'm happy at Everton."

The lanky hitman will again be looking to impress when the Merseysiders travel to Old Trafford to face leaders Manchester United on Sunday.
