Reading have enjoyed a mini revival of late with only the two Manchester clubs claiming more points than the Royals in the last six matches.

Stoke on the other hand have endured a terrible run recently, collecting just two points from a possible 18 on offer.

The Royals' recent run of form has seen them take all the points from their games against West Ham, West Brom, Newcastle and Sunderland, as well as a creditable draw with European champions Chelsea.

A win against a struggling Stoke side would move them six points clear of the relegation zone.

The Potters are still looking for their first win in 2013 - having lost four of six - after going 10 games unbeaten earlier in the season.

Tony Pulis' men look certain to maintain their Premier League status for another year, but will be wary of getting sucked into a scrap for survival.

With regards to personnel, new signing Brek Shea could make his debut for the hosts, but the game should come too soon for defender Marc Wilson.

Noel Hunt could feature for the Royals after the striker missed the last two games with injury, however, goalkeeper Alex McCarthy (shoulder) and striker Jason Roberts (hip/thigh) remain sidelined.
