Chances were few and far between in the first-half as Wes Hoolahan went closest to breaking the deadlock but was unable to convert a Robert Snodgrass cross from close range.

Snodgrass' stooping header from Hoolahan's cross was straight at Cesar, while at the other end Adel Taarabt wriggled past two challenges but his low shot drifted wide of the target.

Taarabt also tried his luck from range early on but his effort flew over the crossbar, while the second period saw more goalmouth action.

Julio Cesar made a point blank save from Hoolahan after he met Snodgrass' centre, while Cesar made another great save to keep out Grant Holt, palming away his drive.

Cesar was called into action again to once more keep out Snodgrass, this time saving from a swirling effort on the turn.

At the other end, QPR should have taken the lead when they were awarded a penalty for Mark Bunn's challenge on Jamie Mackie. However, Taarabt was not able to find the back of the net from the spot as Bunn atoned for his error to make the save.

Christopher Samba also went close, the debutant seeing his effort cleared off the line by Holt.

However, neither side could find a way through, as it finished goalless, leaving QPR bottom of the standings while Norwich are in 14th, five points above the bottom-four.
