Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has confirmed new £8million signing Loic Remy "tore a groin muscle" in training, possibly ruling him out for the rest of the season.

The 26-year-old joined the R's from Marseille in the January transfer period, and even scored on his debut against West Ham a fortnight ago.

However, he was ruled out of Saturday's goalless draw against Norwich after injuring himself the day before, leaving Redknapp ruing the bad luck.

"He tore a groin muscle yesterday in training. I have no idea at the moment how long he will be out," said Redknapp. "It was in the last minute of training, and he just struck a ball, felt it go.

"We will have to see how he is tomorrow (Sunday) and Monday, then take it from there."
