Pienaar starred for the Toffees as they beat Bolton Wanderers 2-1 and Furman's side, Oldham Athletic, shocked Liverpool with a 3-2 win at the weekend.
Furman was in South Africa bossing the midfield against Morocco in a final 2013 Africa Cup of Nations group game that ended 2-2 as his club celebrated a famous victory against the five-time European champions.
The midfielders have never met before, with Everton in the Premier League and Oldham playing in League One, and at national level, the two also missed each other, with Pienaar having retired from international football late last year.
Furman explained: "When I was last in the Bafana squad, when we played Australia in the UK, Pienaar was not part of the squad. More recently I missed him because he had retired from Bafana by the time I joined the squad," he told MTNfootball.
"I am really looking forward to this game because Everton have to come to us (Oldham) and it's not an easy place to come and play.
"I have not met Steven (Pienaar) so I am looking forward to playing against and meeting him."
