The ongoing transfer saga has gathered pace over the last few days, with the Baggies turning down an initial £2million bid at the beginning of the January transfer window.
Odemwingie has since led an angry public tirade on social networking site Twitter against the Midlands club, following Albion's rejection of a formal transfer request by the Nigerian striker.
It was confirmed on Monday, though, that a second bid was received and also subsequently rejected, with a statement by West Brom sporting and technical director Richard Garlick reading: "QPR have made a second, improved offer for Peter, which we have turned down."
The news will likely disappoint Odemwingie even further, with QPR manager Harry Redknapp also venting his frustration with the way the saga has been handled.
Redknapp added: "It's not worked out in an ideal way. The whole situation has become a bit too public really hasn't it?
"I am sure West Brom are not too happy with the way it's gone. We made an enquiry. The enquiry leaked out and obviously the player decided he wanted to come to London and that's how it has worked out.
"I think too many people get involved in Twitter."
When asked on Monday if there was any chance of the deal still going through ahead of Thursday's transfer deadline, the former Spurs manager simply responded: "I don't know. It's a bit of a difficult situation for West Brom."
