The Hoops have been in diabolical form in the league for a majority of this season.

With three wins in the last 15, their latest setback was an embarrassing 4-2 loss to League One outfit Milton Keynes Dons.

Top-flight survival is looking more and more unlikely for Redknapp's men, as they are still rooted to the foot of the table with 15 points from 23 matches. The Rs are now also four points behind Wigan above them.

Samba Diakite is away in South Africa representing his country in the Africa Cup of Nations, while Junior Hoilett (hamstring), Bobby Zamora (hip), Andy Johnson (knee) and Jose Bosingwa (back) are all sidelined through injury.

New arrival Loic Remy will be handed a late fitness test to see if he has recovered from a hamstring problem.

Manchester City, meanwhile, will be keen to keep the pressure on rivals Manchester United, as they seek to overcome a seven-point deficit in the race for the title.

Roberto Mancini's men have been in excellent form in the league of late, despite the Boxing Day loss at Sunderland.

The Citizens have won four straight in the league, as well as two FA Cup victories against Watford and Stoke City.

Mancini is experiencing a bit of a crisis in defence with injuries to Vincent Kompany, Matija Nastasic, Maicon and Micah Richards, and with the unavailability of Yaya and Kolo Toure, the situation looks desperate.

The City boss could opt for a three-man defence with Joleon Lescott, Pablo Zabaleta and Aleksandar Kolarov taking up defensive duties.
