Balotelli is reportedly a target for AC Milan, who have not budged on their refusal to stump up the £28million City want for him.

It has since been reported that the seven-time European champions have initiated further negotiations for the Italy international.

However, Platt insists Balotelli is not for sale.

"I saw that speculation yesterday but I've not heard anything," he said. "As far as we are concerned I think he is still a Manchester City player. I don't think there is anything is going to happen."

Roberto Mancini, who coached Balotelli while the pair were at Inter, was equally candid when asked about the possibility of Balotelli departing the Etihad Stadium.

Mancini said: "No, it is not true, Mario stays here. We didn't have any requests about Mario or other players."

Despite a number of controversies involving the striker since his arrival in 2010, Mancini insists he is still part of the club's future plans.

He said: "Yes, Mario has another three years on his contract."

And Platt says that as far as he is aware, nothing has changed in that regard.

He added: "I can only go off what you know and I have seen. I know exactly the same as you, which is speculation.

"It's a shame Robbie's not here. He might know more than me."
