Millwall v Aston Villa

Bent: Set for recall

Bent: Set for recall

Paul Lambert will be hoping to raise the spirits of his Aston Villa side ahead of their FA Cup fourth-round tie against Millwall this Friday.

Lambert will be weary of his side's dwindling morale following their Capital One Cup loss to surprise package Bradford City, and faces a daunting task to uplift his players following below par performances in the two legs against the League Two side.

Villa now travel to The Den having only registered two away wins all season, and will look to shore up their leaky defence having come under recent criticism for their defending of set pieces.

Darren Bent may be called up to the starting XI with suggestions that Christian Benteke may be rested. The former England international has not enjoyed the successes of previous seasons at club level, having fallen down the pecking order at Villa since the arrival of the Belgian.

Villa are still without captain and long-term absentee Stilian Petrov as the Bulgarian continues his fight against Leukemia, while Richard Dunne may just miss out after returning to light training following a groin injury.

Marc Albrighton, Nathan Baker and Chris Herd are all doubtful too as they recover from hamstring, ankle and foot injuries respectively.

Meanwhile, Championship side Millwall have also struggled for form of late, but will take confidence from their recent home run, having registered five wins in their last eight home matches.

The Lions will be boosted by the recent signing of Nathan Tyson, who is in line to be given his debut for the club.
