The goal, which was also Owen's first for the Potters, came in a 3-1 loss to Swansea City on Saturday and the former Liverpool man admits it was a milestone he feared he would not reach after enduring a woeful first half of the season at the Britannia Stadium.
Owen told The Sun: "I did fear I'd never get there (150 Premier League goals)."
"You do worry and think it isn't meant to be but thankfully I got there and it's another good achievement for me.
"It's nice to do it and a good way to score my first goal for the club.
The 33-year-old had been linked with a move away from the Staffordshire club, however, manager Tony Pulis has recently refuted these claims and it appears the Welshman is willing to persevere with the veteran striker.
"Now it's a question of me doing well, training hard and then taking my chance when it comes.
"Hopefully the second half of the season can be a lot better for me."
Despite not enjoying much time in the starting lineup since joining from Manchester United in the summer, the England International hopes he can build on his landmark goal in the second half of the season.
"I've slipped down the pecking order with Kenwyne's recent form but hopefully I can build upon this."
