The Red Devils travel to White Hart Lane this weekend for a highly anticipated Premier League encounter against Spurs, with United looking to extend their lead at the top of the standings while the hosts will be hoping to solidify their place in the top-four.

Comparisons have been drawn between the pair from the Valley leading up to the clash, and Giggs did not hold back his praise of the 23-year-old playmaker.

"Gareth is brilliant," said Giggs. "He has so much to his game and over the last season or so he has improved a lot.

"He is not just a left winger. He can play in various positions. I have seen him play up front for Wales. I have seen him play off the front and on the right.

"He is such an exciting player, but more than that, he has a good attitude as well.

"He can go far in the game. And whilst I hope he has an off-day this weekend, as a fellow Welshman I hope it is to the very top."

The last time the two sides met, in September, was Tottenham who came out on top, with Bale netting a five-goal thriller at Old Trafford.
