The Swans have enjoyed a fantastic campaign in the Premier League thus far under Laudrup, and currently occupy ninth place in the standings.

The Dane also steered his side to a semi-final berth in the Capital One Cup where they lead Chelsea 2-0 going into the second leg.

And his achievements have been noted by Real's fanbase, who voted him in third place as possible successor to Jose Mourinho, after Rafa Benitez and Joachim Low.

Laudrup, having had managerial spells in La Liga with Getafe and Real Mallorca, said: "I am happy now. When somebody talks well about you it is nice, but remember I played there and have a lot of friends there."

Not only has he guided the Welsh outfit to a string of impressive results at, the manner in which Laudrup has built a strong team, bringing in the likes of Michu, Chico Flores, Jonathan De Guzman and Pablo Hernandez, has caught the eye of the footballing world.

Michu has scored 13 times in the top flight, while De Guzman has three goals and four assists.

Laudrup mentioned the freedom in the transfer market as a key factor as to why he enjoys coaching in England, and the evidence of his success can be seen in the way both Michu and De Guzman have fared under his guidance.

"It is different over here because the managers here have a lot more influence on who is coming and going," he said.

"I prefer that because it is my responsibility because if things are not going well I am the one being sacked.

"That is why the manager should have some influence on who is coming and who is going instead of just being the trainer of the team and another person sitting behind a desk can buy and sell players."
