The 26-year-old striker is the Citizens' top scorer this season with nine goals, despite having started a number of Premier League games from the bench.

He is competing with Sergio Aguero, Carlos Tevez and Mario Balotelli for a place in City's attack that is set to be further strengthened during the current transfer window.

Balotelli was touted to be the player leaving the club following his recent altercation with manager Roberto Mancini, but Dzeko is not taking any chances.

The Bosnia international was recently linked with a switch to Inter Milan, but insists he will make the most of the chances afforded to him to prove he is vital to the Eastlands outfit's title chances.

He told The People: "Anything is possible. I wouldn't rule out leaving now or in the summer, but I'm trying not to think about it.

"It is up to me to try to use the opportunities I am being given at City, everything else is beyond my powers at the moment.

"We have four strikers and I suppose we can bring in another one, but only after one of us leaves the club."

Dzeko added: "Everyone knows what Balotelli is like. He enjoys being the centre of attention, that's just who he is.

"When it comes to the team, he can sometimes be a bit over the top in some areas, but generally I find him a really a positive guy.

"However, I don't think that he is making the most of his talent."
