Van Persie has already scored 20 goals in his short time at the club, including five in six games during December.
He was subsequently voted United's player of the month, although the Dutchman was quick to heap praise on the club's fans who have taken to the former Arsenal frontman.
He told the Red Devils' official website: "It's always nice to be recognised by the fans.
"I have settled into the club quite quickly and I am really enjoying playing in this team. I would like to thank the fans for all their support."
Van Persie insists it's not just about him finding the back of the net, though, and is glad that the contributions are coming from all over the pitch.
"It's not all about scoring goals, but obviously that does help," the 29-year-old added.
"It's great that so many players have scored goals over the season so far."
Van Persie is naturally happy to have helped steer his side to some important wins during the busy festive schedule.
He now hopes Sir Alex Ferguson's side can focus all their efforts on claiming a 13th Premier League title.
"December is always a difficult month and I feel we have come through this period as we wanted to and hopefully we can now push on for the rest of the season," Van Persie concluded.
