The Chilean striker came off the bench to make his debut for Roberto Martinez's side in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Bournemouth in the FA Cup, for his first taste of English football.
The 18-year-old is hoping he can benefit from his loan spell at the DW Stadium, much like Cleverley did two seasons ago.
Henriquez said: "I'm looking forward to my time here and hopefully I can be good for the team like Tom Cleverley was when he came here on loan.
"My job is to score goals for the team and hopefully I can give Wigan fans some good memories while I'm here.
"I'm hoping to get first-team appearances in the Premier League and coming to Wigan will be a very good way to do that, particularly with the style that the gaffer has got the team playing."
The teenager added that having compatriot Jean Beausejour in the team will help him adapt quicker to life in England's top flight.
"It's great to team up with Jean because he is from Chile like me and him being here will help me to settle in, as will all of the players in the squad, Spanish speaking or not," he said.
