The Democratic Republic of Congo captain has revealed he was previously a target for Tottenham and Blackburn.
And with the January transfer window having recently swung open, the 27-year-old has high hopes he can secure a move this season.
Scottish Premier League side Celtic have reportedly registered their interest in the forward with Championship side Leeds United also believed to be keen in him.
But a positive showing at this year's Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa could prompt a number of Premier League club's to bid for his services with Spurs, Arsenal and Fulham all reportedly keeping tabs on the player.
Mputu said: "I have been invited by Tottenham before with Harry Redknapp, and also Blackburn when Paul Ince was in charge, but it did not materialise because I was not ready to come to England. Now I am ready."
