The Gunners' Premier League credentials will be thoroughly tested in their next two games as they face champions City at the Emirates Stadium next weekend before travelling to Stamford Bridge to square off against the Blues.

Wenger's side first have a tricky FA cup tie against the Swans, who have won the last two meetings between the sides, at the Liberty stadium. However, the north London giants are currently bang in-form, with the 1-1 draw at Southampton in midweek snapping a four-match winning run.

"The best way to prepare for our games against Manchester City and Chelsea is to come out on top against Swansea, which will be a difficult tie," Wenger told Arsenal Player.

"The FA Cup is always important, but we are on a good run overall and we want to keep that going."

Arsenal currently sit sixth in the league standings, four points below fourth-placed Chelsea and a further one adrift of Tottenham in third, leaving a good run of form pivotal as Wenger looks to re-establish the side as one of England's biggest clubs.

He added: "It (the Premier League) is tight, every game is massive which is why consistency is so important.

"All the teams are difficult to beat and if you are not completely at your best, it does not work."
