The Villans have suffered three demoralizing defeats on the spin, with the weekend's 3-0 reverse to Wigan leaving them perched just above the drop zone in 17th place with 18 points.

The 10th-placed Swans, meanwhile, are still in the top half of the table following an impressive start to the season, although they halted a four-game winless streak with Saturday's 2-1 success at Fulham, which took them to 28 points.

In team news, Danny Graham could retain his place up front for the Welsh outfit after he scored against the Cottagers, with Michu expected to miss out again through injury.

Swansea manager Michael Laudrup is also contemplating whether to stick with Gerhard Tremmel in goal following an admirable display against the west Londoners, or recall Michel Vorm.

However, he will definitely be without Neil Taylor, who is a long-term absentee with a broken leg.

Fabian Delph is available for the visitors after serving his suspension, but Villa boss Paul Lambert has a number of injuries to contend with.

Darren Bent (hamstring), Gabriel Agbonlahor (thigh), Charles N'Zogbia (knee), Ron Vlaar (calf) and Nathan Baker (hamstring) are all struggling with injury, while Richard Dunne (knee) is still a long way off from a return to action.
