The Czech Republic international was replaced by Ross Turnbull at half-time in the Blues' come-from-behind victory in which Frank Lampard bagged a brace.

Cech will undergo a scan on Monday to discover the full extent of the injury after suffering from pain in his groin.

A brief statement on the club's official site revealed: "Petr Cech will have a scan on a adductor muscle at the top of his leg that forced him off at half-time, to determine how long he will be out."

The 30-year-old added: "I think it was in 40th minute when I was punching the ball away and when I jumped I felt pain in my right groin.

"I finished the half knowing I would not be able to continue after the break. We will see how serious it is. We will know more after the medical check that I undergo tomorrow."
