Suarez: Ran rampant at QPR

Liverpool strolled to a comfortable 3-0 victory at lamentable QPR thanks to a Luis Suarez brace and Daniel Agger's header before half time.

Harry Redknapp's side were dismal before the break as the visitors threatened to run riot and, although the Hoops improved after the interval, the damage had already been done.

The Premier League rock-bottom club already appear doomed to relegation and, as they play Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester City in January, they could be a long way from safety by the end of next month.

The writing was on the wall for the hosts as early as the third minute when the outstanding Suarez had the first shot of the match that Julio Cesar was forced to parry.

The Uruguayan striker wasn't to be denied though and in the 10 minute he beat the plodding Clint Hill far too easily, before sliding his shot past Cesar.

Six minutes later Suarez made it 2-0 when he got to the byline and fired in a cross that rebounded back to him and he lashed the ball into the net.

In the 24th minute Ryan Nelsen was forced to hook Glen Johnson's shot over his own bar, but the Reds scored their third goal four minutes later when a short corner routine caught QPR out and Agger was allowed to head Steven Gerrard's pinpoint cross past Cesar.

In the 38th minute Suarez jinked to the byline again and teed up Gerrard, who saw his shot cleared off the line by Nelsen when the Liverpool captain should really have scored.

Redknapp seemed to go for damage limitation in the second half by bringing Shaun Derry on for Djibril Cisse, and the ploy worked to an extent as the west Londoners produced a much better display.

Suarez was denied a hat-trick by Cesar but the Merseysiders strolled through the rest of the match having won the game in the first 45 minutes, while QPR weren't good enough to find a way back into the encounter.
