Reading and Swansea both claimed a point in what was a largely disappointing affair following a goalless draw at the Madejski Stadium.

The Swans dominated the opening phases of the game and it was Michu who had the first chance after four minutes, going close with a curling effort following good work from Luke Moore.

The Welsh side continued to come forward with Michu looking dangerous every time he got involved, but spurning a number of good opportunities before Nathan Dyer twice tried his luck from long range but couldn't find the finish.

The visitors continued their form into the second half and it was Dyer again who went closest to opening the scoring, but his header was spectacularly saved by an excellent stop from Adam Federici.

That latest let-off seemed to spark the hosts into life and they managed to find the back of the net after 72 minutes through substitute Adam Le Fondre, but his effort was ruled out after he was rightly adjudged to have handled the ball.

The Royals continued to push with Le Fondre their biggest threat and he must have thought he had opened the scoring with eight minutes left, but his shot was brilliantly cleared by Chico.

The result was enough to take Reading off the foot of the standings at the expense of QPR, while Swansea finished the day in mid-table with 25 points.
