The Hammers have won just a single match in their last five outings, losing against Tottenham, Manchester United and Liverpool. They now find themselves in 11th with 23 points.

Sam Allardyce bemoan his side's injury luck recently as he has been forced to contend without seven of his first-team players in recent weeks.

Mohamed Diame (hamstring), Alou Diarra (thigh), George McCartney (knee) and Ricardo Vaz Te (shoulder) and Andy Carroll (hamstring) will all miss out on the visit from the Merseysiders on Saturday.

Yossi Benayoun and Jack Collison (both knee) could both be in line to make their returns to the squad, but Big Sam might opt for an unchanged line-up from the one which faced West Brom last weekend.

The Toffees also seem to be in a tailspin in the league after a bright start. They have drawn for of their last five, while winning the other against Spurs.

David Moyes' side have dropped out of the top five, now sitting in sixth level on points with Arsenal.

The Scot will have to make do without the talismanic Marouane Fellaini, who starts his three-match suspension after headbutting Ryan Shawcross last weekend. Thomas Hitzlsperger could be brought in to replace the Belgian, mmoving Leon Osman into a more attacking role.

Victor Anichebe and Kevin Mirallas (both hamstring), Tony Hibbert (calf) and Phil Neville (knee) will definitely miss out on the trip to east London.
