Since Mark Hughes was replaced by Harry Redknapp at Loftus Road, the west London outfit have not lost, lifting themselves off the bottom of the table following their latest success - a 2-1 win over Fulham on Saturday.

The Morocco international has urged his team-mates to kick on during the festive season even though he is likely to be absent from the squad as he does battle for his country in the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.

"We are now unbeaten in four games and we know that we have to keep going like this," he told the Daily Star. "If we can do well over Christmas I think we will have a real chance of staying up.

"I hope now we can start to believe in ourselves because if we keep winning games we will get out of trouble."

The 23-year-old scored the brace that earned his team a crucial three points against the Cottagers and he said he really enjoyed playing in the hole behind the striker.

"It has been a long time since I have played in this position but the gaffer put me there and that is where I like to be," Taarabt added. "We deserved to win against Fulham because we created all the chances in the game."
