The Cottagers found the back of the net for the first time in four games as Steve Sidwell and Hugo Rodallega fired home either side of Hatem Ben Arfa's equaliser to keep the points in London.

Speaking after the match Jol was full of praise for his players, including Dimitar Berbatov, although the boss was critical of the former Manchester United striker's failure to get his name on the score sheet.

He said: "I was so happy we could score the first goal - that was our problem the last couple of weeks.

"After the first goal we should have scored at least two or three. I think Berbatov should have scored.

"He was outstanding as a player but he should have scored and he didn't, we didn't - and I thought maybe it's one of these nights again that we drop points."
