The former Liverpool star also netted twice in the Blues' midweek UEFA Champions League match.
Benitez now hopes that Torres will begin to start living up to his £50million price tag as the London side look to keep pace with the two Manchester clubs at the top of the Premier League standings.
The Chelsea boss believes that confidence is slowly creeping back into the front man's game, saying: "It's fair to say that we are watching now a Fernando with more confidence and with more belief, and at the same time, the team is the same way.
"I was analysing his movement before and we were adjusting little things. It's a question of confidence and just little different movements.
"I have said before, if the team plays well and creates chances, Fernando will score goals," concluded Benitez.
