Keane spent a loan spell at Aston Villa earlier this year, where he scored three goals in seven matches.
The MLS ended last weekend and only resumes in March.
Robbie Keane, who won the MLS with LA Galaxy this season, scoring 22 goals in the process, has worked with Redknapp before during their time at Tottenham Hotspur.
The QPR boss admits that bringing the Irishman on board is an attractive proposition for the struggling London side, who have not won a single game this season, having drawn 2-2 with Wigan on Saturday.
"The MLS market is one that we've got to look at. Robbie's a good shout - he's a good pro," Redknapp said.
"He would be the ideal type to have around for sure because he would give us something. I haven't spoken to him yet, but he would be an interesting player."
Former Everton players Landon Donovan and Tim Cahill are another two players that could attract attention from Redknapp.
