The Citizens endured a humiliating campaign in the Champions League, failing to win a single game and finishing bottom of Group D. They missed out on a place in the Europa League - as a result of their last place finish.
The Italian, however, has denied that his side face a morale issue ahead of the crucial Manchester derby on Sunday.
"I don't think there will be a problem with morale," the former Inter boss told SkySports after the Borussia Dortmund match.
"We didn't lose the Champions League tonight - it's clear that tonight we lost the chance to qualify for the Europa League.
"But I think that after that, it is important that we only think about the derby. We have five days to recover our strength, and then I don't think there will be a problem."
