Wenger: In need of a win

Two late strikes from Michu gave Swansea a famous 2-0 win at the Emirates Stadium over a largely subdued Arsenal side.

Both teams struggled to stamp their mark on the game in the early stages but it was the visitors who had the best chance of first-half, as Nathan Dyer burst through but was denied by a brilliant tackle from Thomas Vermaelen.

This seemed to inspire the Gunners, but despite plenty of attacking intent and endeavour, they couldn't find a finish as Theo Walcott, Lukas Podolski and Gervinho all went close.

The second 45 minutes continued in the same vein, with Mikel Arteta and Santi Cazorla both firing wide but Swansea continued to push and nearly got their reward as Wojiech Szczesny pulled off a brilliant save from Luke Moore.

However, the visitors finally took advantage of their possession and it was the Spaniard Michu who broke the deadlock with a supremely cool strike in the 88th minute.

This prompted the Gunners to push on but it wasn't enough and it was Swansea who had the last laugh, as after good work from the excellent Dyer, Michu again found his way through on goal and repeated his finish to secure the three points.

After Wednesday's win against West Brom, the Swans are now slowly but surely climbing up the table but there still remains plenty of question over whether or not Arsenal can still compete at the top.
